Who has the ultimate authority in the affairs of man
In the cause and effect world of catch as catch can
How do we access permission for the right to simply be
In the world whose domain is nearly all that we see
Where do we obtain the nihil obstat for the world at large
In a topsy turvy realm where it seems no one’s in charge
Or is it simply that we have carte blanche for all that we do
And there is no one in charge and no final set of rules
Or is there a God who acts as the final arbiter of how we should act
And ordains through a cosmic rule book of exactly how to react?
