SALARIAT

As a member of the salariat’s right your collar is likely white
And as a member of the proletariat true it’s probably blue
But because your collar is white doesn’t give you more rights
For whoever you are and whatever you do equity is your due.

In America these days class warfare seems to be de rigueur
One percenters hold power and wealth and not due to stealth
It is the momentum of the care of money and life not being fair
And a continuing culture of financial health from the commonwealth.

And poverty comes from positional and situations conditional
Rooted in a momentum of paucity and too much resource scarcity
And a lack of means additional and a culture way too traditional
To overcome a rampant adversity and a system of high complexity

But in the end the point is moot because our nature is at the root
And we are not defined by a fancy car but rather by who we are
It’s not about the accumulation of loot or the wearing of a fancy suit
Class distinction is an illusion by far and can fade like an old scar.

Simply be kind
And you will find
The kindness you give
Will simply let you live

A life of unmitigated joy!
