SUBSIDIARITY

What roles do we play in the dynamics of an all-encompassing world?
Can we all be leaders in a complex and unfolding miasma whirled?
Or are we all confined to that of a place of low level subsidiarity?
Playing our parts with a certain level of benign and inane absurdity?
In many respects everyone is subservient to everyone else’s role
And yet we are each the master of our own domain, the owner of our own soul.
The irony of being both is lost on most due to paradigms and the ego’s hold
The peasant rues his/her place and the lords and ladies forge ahead so bold
But the peasant grants the lord the power he has so who rules over who
In everything we say and do you’re in charge of me and I am in charge of you.

(Adj. — the quality or state of being subsidiary.)
