I embrace the quality of authenticity
Especially when enhanced with perspicacity.
Truth and wisdom often go hand in hand and do not lie
But too often there are things that appear to be bona fide
And appear to be wise but really are distant from the truth
When someone appears too slick and promotes their proofs.
It gives me pause when a poshlost politician utters promises
That he or she is a right honorable person and this congress is
Looking out for the interests of this country’s citizenry
But is in reality engaging in acts most despicably
Pulling the wool over people’s eyes
Engaging in truly horrendous lies
